Understanding Your Acupuncture Treatment: What to Expect
- Thorough Consultation: Before needling begins, a detailed interview covers various aspects of your health, including unexpected questions about sleeping patterns, stress, and lifestyle. Your
accurate responses aid in a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan. - Holistic Approach: Acupuncture focuses on the whole body, addressing interconnected systems. Even if your initial ailment fades before the session, acupuncture may unveil and treat underlying imbalances.
- Clothing and Examination: Unlike massage, you keep your clothes on during acupuncture. Wear loose-fitting attire for accessibility. Practitioners may examine your pulse, abdomen, and tongue to assess organ systems.
- Needle Sensation: Acupuncture needles are thin and generally painless. The sensation is often described as a tiny prick upon insertion, with minimal to no discomfort afterward. Amy ensures a gentle and reassuring experience.
- Comprehensive Treatments: Acupuncturists may offer additional therapies like gua sha, cupping, herbal remedies, or acupressure, depending on your diagnosis and needs.

First Treatment £80
This session lasts around 90 minutes. In this session, Amy will conduct a comprehensive review of your health conditions, including your medical history, and emotional stress level, discuss your current lifestyles and symptoms, and examine your pulse and tongue.
Amy will then decide on a treatment plan tailored to suit your needs based on the diagnosis and give you your first treatment. Depending on treatment needs, a few acupuncture points will be selected, some needles may only need to be inserted for a few seconds, but others may need to be left for 15-20 minutes. Other treatment methods, like moxa or cupping, may also be used depending on each patient's symptoms. Amy will monitor your status and ensure you are fully relaxed during the treatment. Throughout the treatment, Amy will communicate with you every step of the treatment, and it will only be carried out with your consent. -
Follow-up Treatment £60
Each follow-up session lasts up to 60 minutes. Amy will go through the changes in your symptoms after treatments, see if there are any new issues and plan the treatment for the session after the pulse and tongue diagnosis.
Similar to the first treatment, Amy will choose a selection of acupuncture points and monitor the progress during the session to achieve the desired treatment results.
